The adrenaline will be flowing when the Bikes, Boards N Beach Series makes its first-ever stop at Racine's North Beach, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 1-2. Two state-of-the-art mobile ramp set-ups, including a skateboard/BMX park and a one-of-a-kind urban snowboard ski-set-up, promise to wow riders and spectators of all ages.
Real Racine and AGA Nation, invite riders to free open riding at 4 p.m. Friday at the Kids Cove parking lot, 100 Kewaunee St. Starting at 7 p.m., the Rise Above BMX team performs high flying demos followed by skateboard and snowboard trip competition with music for a great free evening show.
More open riding and free clinics start at 11 a.m. Saturday. Competitions in BMX, skateboard and snowboard run all afternoon. Cash prizes and sponsor swag will go to the podium finishers at each round. The rider $10 entry fee will help support the Racine Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services' skate park at Pershing Park.
Winners for both skateboard and BMX, intermediate and advance divisions will also vie for AGA Cup bragging rights including the chance to engrave their names with past champions like Autteish Danger, Malcolm Forbes, Ben Fisher, Jon 'Deezle' Depoian, Cory Wiergowski, Dustin Blauvelt, Pat Ellis and many more.
